Privacy Policy

SpeedNet Credo (“we”, “us”) lets you convert Safaricom and Airtel airtime into M-Pesa cash and see how to buy discounted data, minutes and SMS bundles. This policy explains what we collect when you use our Android app and website, why, and your choices. We follow the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.

What we collect

  • Phone numbers you type in: the number you send airtime from and the M-Pesa number that receives your cash.
  • Transaction details: network (Safaricom or Airtel), amount, payout, date and time, status and the M-Pesa reference.
  • The network’s reply to the airtime transfer (for example “You have transferred 10 KSH…”), so we can confirm the transfer.
  • A random install ID the app creates on your phone. It is not your name or device serial number; it only lets the app show your own history.

We do not collect your name, contacts, call history, messages, location, photos, or your M-Pesa or airtime PIN. There is no account or password.

Why we need the Phone permission

To send your airtime, the app dials the network’s transfer code in the background. That needs the Android Phone permission (to place the code) and permission to read which SIM is which (so an Airtel transfer uses your Airtel SIM). We use them only for this. If you decline, you can still browse offers, but you cannot convert airtime.

How we use it

  • To confirm your airtime transfer and send your M-Pesa payout.
  • To show your conversion history and to give support when something goes wrong.
  • To prevent fraud and abuse (for example, limits on how much can be paid out to one phone in a day).
  • To keep financial records and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising profiles. The app shows our own banner ads; they are not personalised from your data.

Who we share it with

  • Safaricom (M-Pesa), to send your payout to the M-Pesa number you gave.
  • Our database and hosting provider (Supabase), which stores the records on our behalf.
  • Authorities, only where the law requires it.

Security and retention

Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and only authorised administrators can see transaction records. We keep transaction records as long as needed for accounting, disputes and legal requirements (up to 7 years), then delete or anonymise them.

Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold about your phone number, or object to how we use it. Email support@speednetcredo.co.ke from the number concerned and we will reply within 30 days. Some records must be kept by law, and we will tell you if that applies. You can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (Kenya).

Children

The service is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy we will update the date above. Questions: support@speednetcredo.co.ke.
